You are an employee of an overseas newspaper, news agency, or broadcasting organisation.

You are being posted to the UK on a long-term assignment.

You can support yourself financially without relying on public funds.

You meet the English language requirement (CEFR Level A1 in speaking and listening).

Standard processing:

3 weeks for applications from outside the UK.
8 weeks for applications from inside the UK.
Priority service: May be available, but not guaranteed.

Yes. The visa is initially granted for 3 years, and you can extend it for another 2 years. After 5 years, you may apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

Yes, but if you are a sole representative, your spouse/partner cannot be your dependent if they own or control a majority of the overseas business.

Application fee: £769 (outside UK) / £885 (inside UK).
Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): Payable as part of the application.
